Dr. Pekarski instead uses ceramic-based alternatives, such as Admira Fusion, to eliminate any risk of cancer. Dr. Pekarski also avoids amalgam restorations. Although amalgam is considered safe, she believes that there’s a difference between being safe and actually being biocompatible. It is also known that removing intact amalgam fillings can expose you to an increase of mercury vapor released during the process. This may cause harm to your body.
